Digital Art is (to me) the digital manipulation of a photographic image using the tools available from various photo editing applications. I explicitly exclude generative AI from the aforesaid editing applications. I think that generative AI eliminates the pleasure and joy of the creative process, so its use (to me) is a waste of time. Digital Paint
These images employ Photoshop actions, sometimes very complex actions , and extensive post processing to achieve a look that is reminiscent of paintings of various types, from watercolor and acrylic to oriental or Sumi ink drawings.
Digital Drawing
Again, complex actions and post processing yield images reminiscent of pen and ink drawings or pencil drawings – sometimes in color sometimes black and white.
Geometric Manipulation
Geometric manipulation of an image using digital tools can produce a completely different fantasy image. The images here are produced by (among other things) reflecting the starting image along its various axes and applying the post processing tools from multiple editing applications. I find the fantasy-like images pleasing by themselves and often, buried within the image, is the suggestion of a face which may be benign or sometimes creepy!
